Frequently Asked Questions

Brand, marketing or campaign?
Each has a distinct role. Branding defines the story, language and visual identity of a business or project. Marketing builds awareness and interest. Campaigns activate both — amplifying and extending the brand into something measurable, within a particular market segment or channel. Our expertise spans all three, though larger campaigns may call for specialist partners such as marketing strategists, media planners or social media managers. We lead the brand thinking and keep everything cohesive.

Who do you work with?
Developers, builders, architects, hoteliers, financiers, technology experts, real estate agents and any other specialists that shape Australia’s built environment. Some branding projects are designed to sell or lease a property; others aim to build businesses awareness, strengthen reputation or simply attract talent.

Do you rebrand existing businesses?
Yes. Many of our projects involve repositioning established businesses. We help clarify their offer, refine their visual language and express a stronger sense of purpose and difference.

When should we engage Assembly?
There’s no single ‘optimal’ time — it varies for every project and client. We suggest getting in touch early to discuss what’s needed. The main thing is allowing enough time for a considered, thorough process so the outcome is as strong as it can be.

What's your process?
In simple terms, our process is Discovery → Brand Development → Implementation. Every project is different, so we adjust our approach to suit each client’s goals, timing and structure. The framework stays consistent, but the detail is always tailored to achieve the right outcome.

Do you collaborate with other teams?
Always. We respect existing relationships and often work alongside a range of teams — in-house or external. Architects, interior designers, PR, marketing, digital and other specialists are part of our daily collaborations. We stay flexible and adapt to suit each project’s needs.

Do you create brand names?
Yes. A great name is a powerful brand asset. We develop names that reflect a clear idea, tone and brand positioning. Each name is developed in a way to ensure it’s distinctive and defensible. Read more here.

Do you direct renders and photography?
Yes. We provide art direction across both to maintain brand alignment. Read about renders here.

How long does it take?
Typically 10–12 weeks for brand strategy and identity, with implementation rolled out progressively. Launch strategies are developed in close collaboration with our clients to ensure timing, challenges and opportunities are fully considered.

How do you price projects?
We use fixed fees by stage, scoped to specific outputs and review rounds. Costs vary with project scale, complexity and timing but the structure remains transparent and is always discussed prior to any commitment. Work can also be phased to meet milestones without compromising quality.

What do you need to start?
A top-level brief outlining the business or project, objectives and preferred timelines is a good starting point. The more context we have, the faster we can shape a scope and proposal.

Do you stay involved post-launch?
Yes. Our work doesn’t end at launch. We remain invested in the growth of every brand we create and provide ongoing support to ensure it continues to evolve and perform.
