Project No.57 —
Residential Apartments, Brand and Campaign, Hobart Tasmania

Grace, Sandy Bay

'Architecture in a garden' is a concept that celebrates the interplay between built form and the natural environment. It’s where architecture feels at home in nature, with buildings thoughtfully placed amongst greenery to prioritise views, light, and connection to the landscape. It turns the surroundings into an essential, living part of the home. Our brand was designed to epitomise this very idea.
Marking our second project in much-loved Hobart, Grace continues to lift the bar and set a new standard for local project marketing in the luxury residential space.

A Residential Oasis

Grace is a project that holds personal significance for the development team. Having spent much of their childhood in the area, they experienced first-hand the tranquillity and lifestyle it offers. The opportunity to regenerate and revitalise this part of Sandy Bay was a meaningful one—transforming it into a residential sanctuary of just ten architect-designed, house-sized residences.
Privately located at the end of a cul-de-sac, the project is spread across two separate buildings. Nestled into the hillside, they integrate seamlessly with the natural surroundings through a low-rise form of only three levels each. Preserving the majority of the site as natural landscape, the buildings occupy less than half of the available area—respecting the environment, existing tranquillity, and sense of open space.

A Story of Design Excellence

Grace is a collaboration between some of Tasmania’s leading design talents—led by Cumulus Studio, one of Australia's most awarded architectural practices, and Inspiring Place, known for their expertise in sensitively enhancing local landscapes. The development also features Australia’s leading sustainability consultants, Hip v Hype, who focus on minimising carbon emissions, energy use, and environmental impact.
A demonstration of uncompromised, thoughtful design and refined creativity, this development is a continuation of Hobart’s emergence as a centre of design excellence.

Looking to capture the essence of the location, we commissioned Adam Gibson—not only a proud Tasmanian, but one of Australia's most celebrated photographers. His beautifully curated photographic essay, capturing the interplay between land and water, formed the atmospheric backdrop for the brand.

Render Art Direction

Pursuing a concept of a ‘natural residential oasis’, the brand called for a suite of highly curated renders. Through detailed art direction, particular attention was paid to every composition. The final suite of evocative, sophisticated renders not only highlighted the exceptional architecture of Cumulus Studio, but also carefully positioned the building within its context. Emphasising a robust yet refined material palette of concrete, natural timbers, bagged brickwork, metalwork, and glass, we ensured the gravitas and design detailing of both architecture and interiors were clearly conveyed.
