An initiative of Moda and unlike anything ever seen before in Hobart, St.David is a genuinely ambitious undertaking that pushes the boundaries across architecture, engineering, industrial fabrication and construction. A collection of twenty-eight individually designed residences by one of Tasmania’s most respected and progressive architects Room 11, it is bold, unvarnished and unpolished — yet absolutely stunning. It promises to further enhance Hobart’s reputation as a centre of design excellence in Australia.
St.David is a celebration of Tasmania, which was a powerful driver of the brand strategy that Assembly developed to underpin the project. A unique part of Australia, Tasmania boasts vast landscapes and astonishing beauty across both natural and man-made elements. It's a place where distinctive geological character meets the groundbreaking engineering of large infrastructure projects, such as the Gordon Dam and world-class Tasmanian hydroelectric power stations.
These bold, robust materials are alongside distinctive natural textures inspired by the elemental, raw, and visceral approach to architecture and interior design. Unearthed during discovery sessions with Room11 Architects, these concepts laid a clear path for a distinctive, original brand rich in memorable storytelling.
In our journey to capture Tasmania's distinctive character across both natural and man-made elements, we heavily utilised visual narration. We enlisted the renowned Tasmanian photographer, Adam Gibson, to traverse and capture the island's landscapes. His lens journeyed from the majestic Gordon Dam to Hobart's mesmerising Tessellated Pavements, culminating in a stunning visual series that became the cornerstone of St. David's marketing narrative. More than a mere aesthetic, this visual exploration was pivotal in articulating the architectural and interior storylines.
It's well known that high-quality take-home collateral is important — not only leaving a lasting impression on buyers but also influencing the perceived value of the property. The suite of printed collateral for St.David took buyers on an inspiring journey of progressive design, executed with beauty and precision. A pair of brochures; the first communicating the stunning residential offering in the heart of Hobart, and the second a photographic essay of Room 11’s inspiration by Adam Gibson. Encased in a clear polypropylene sleeve, the outer typography was embellished in bronze foil. An oversized architectural-style folio bag encapsulates the brochures and other marketing collateral, rewarding prospective buyers with an informative and comprehensive suite of collateral.
